About Megan Jansen
Hi, I’m Megan – I’m the founder of Sweet, Savory and Spice. I’m glad you came by. I’m a mom of 2 awesome kids. Dara, my daughter is 9 and my son Rowan is 4. they both keep my life interesting to say the least.
I share this parenting journey with my (hopefully) soon-to-be husband Anthony. We have been together for almost 13 years now and have grown together in this family we have created and are both so excited to see what the future holds for us.
We live in a small town in southern Ontario, Canada. During our very short summer months, you can find us usually on the road. looking for beaches, rivers and anywhere Anthony can cast his line into the water. At night we love to hang out with our friends, talking about our lives and having a few drinks around the campfire.
During the Fall we love nothing more than a goo hiking trail and to see all those rivers and lakes with the beautiful colours of Autumn. That time of year also holds one of my favorite holidays Halloween! Everything about this holiday makes me happy, from the costumes to the movies and obviously the food.

if you had of told me when I was a kid that I would have my own recipe blog one day I would not have believed you. not only because the internet wasn’t actually a thing till I was in high school but also because you couldn’t convince me that cooking was something I would ever bee good at.
When I was younger cooking was never my strong suit. I would bake the occasional batch of cookies that turned out half decent but if I was left to make a meal for myself, well… let’s just say I’ve never met another person who could burn a box of mac and cheese.
When I was a kid I spent most of my time at my grandma’s house. she was always in the kitchen making cookies or snacks of some kind. every holiday and birthday was celebrated at her house with a meal, and always a desert. Everything was homemade and even though I didn’t know it then I was learning a lot from her.
Now as an adult I find myself learning new hobbies like canning, baking, and making just about anything I can from scratch. I’m constantly learning new things inside the kitchen and out and I’m so excited to share what I have learned so far with you.
