Pumpkin is the taste of the season from coffee in the morning to desert after dinner. Time to add pumpkin to our breakfast routine with this delicious pumpkin pie French toast.
This for sure will be a regular thing in the years to come. I feel a tradition coming on.
Ingredients you will need
- Pumpkin pure – use the canned stuff for ease, I always have a can or two on hand this time of year.
- Large eggs – eggs are a pivotal part of French toast.
- Pumpkin pie spice- a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. It can of course be purchased as a mix blend pre-made also.
- Milk – added to make sure the pumpkin mix isn’t too thick.
- Sliced bread – use any bread you have on hand. regular sandwich bread is what I used and it worked out perfectly.
- Whip cream – use any kind pre made or home made.
- Maple syrup – real maple syrup is ideal and a way better taste than the synthetic type but that will work as well.
- Butter – to melt in the pan and to butter the bread when cooked.
