Pizza is a classic family favorite in so many households. When you make this recipe for the first time you will never order delivery again. and will always make a perfect pizza at home.
This pizza crust recipe is one of the first things I worked on when we were at home trying to limit our interactions with others. It has since become a major staple in our family. Our kids ask for it all the time and my husband has even said it brightens his day at work when he remembers that it is pizza night.
The best part about making pizza at home is the flexibility you have when it comes to the toppings. Experimenting with ingredients becomes so much easier when you can do whatever you want and it won’t cost an arm and a leg by the time “they” are done adding it to your bill.
Our favorite things to keep in stock in our kitchen are pepperoni, ham, bacon, mushrooms, onions, peppers, olives, and various cheeses. I buy pizza sauce when it is on sale and we use about half a jar every week. even if you are a minimalist like my kids or like to pile the toppings high like my husband you will save so much money and make everyone a pizza they love.
This dough can also be used for making amazing garlic cheese stick.
Ingredients you will need
- Pizza yeast – I have made this pizza with regular active dry yeast and it does work. but the texture is better I find with pizza yeast.
- Water – warm but not too hot. do not want to burn the yeast.
- Sugar– to feed the yeast to allow a good rise in the dough.
- Flour– all-purpose flour will do.
- Salt– kosher salt to bring out the flavors of all the other ingredients.
- Italian seasoning– adds the perfect flavor to the dough.
- Olive oil– smooths everything out and adds flavor.
