long gone are the days of stuffing the breadcrumbs up the turkey cavity to create a turkey dressing for your thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Most of us at this point have learned how to make the perfect turkey and that does not include drying it out with a belly full of bread crumbs.
So what do we do now?
well, we can’t call it stuffing I guess but it doesn’t matter does it? It is delicious and on the plate next to my perfectly roasted turkey ready to be topped with the best gravy. That is all that matters.
not to worry though because I have here the perfect recipe for the best turkey dressing you will ever make.

- Butter
- Onions
- Celery
- poultry seasoning
- thyme
- sage
- salt
- ground pepper
- eggs
- chicken broth
- parsley
How to make Turkey Dressing
Make sure you have the dried bread cubes. you can either leave them out over night to become naturally stale or you can bake them on a cookie sheet at 200℉ tossing every 10 min or so until they are nice and crunchy
1. Preheat your oven
pre heat oven to 350℉
2. Prep the vegetables
dice your onion, and celery. try to keep them all roughly the same size for the best consistency in cooking.
3. Cook the vegetables
to a large frying pan add the butter, celery and onion. sauté it all together until the onions become translucent and the celery begins to soften
to the pan add the thyme, poultry seasoning, sage, salt and pepper stir and continue to cook until everything becomes fragrant. Remove from heat
4. Mix the wet ingredients
in a large bowl add the eggs and 1½ cups of chicken broth then whisk it all together. make sure the bowl you are using is big enough for all the bread to fit inside and be tossed.
5. Mix it all together
add your dried bread crumbs and the cooled onion mixture
toss everything together until the bread cubes are all coated. you want the cubes to be wet but not soaked. add more chicken broth as needed and mix until you have the right consistency.
6. Prepare the pan
spray a 9×12 baking pan with cooking spray
pour the dressing mixture into the pan and cover with tin foil
7. Bake
bake for 45-60 minutes stirring every 15-20 minutes
cook until you have your desired doneness
