This chocolate banana bread is a great alternative to your regular run-of-the-mill banana bread. we all love a loaf of good banana bread but this recipe just elevates it to the next level.
My family goes in and out of love with bananas. some weeks I can buy a bunch and they are gone within days, other weeks they sit in our fruit bowl and no one will go anywhere near them.

Ingredients you will need
- 3-4 med ripe bananas
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- ⅓ cup milk
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 tsp coconut extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1½ cup flour
- ⅓ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup chocolate chips
How to make Chocolate Banana Bread
- Preheat the oven to 350°f. and prepare a loaf pan with cooking spray.
- Peel and mash the bananas in a large bowl.
- Stir in the melted butter, egg, milk, cocoa powder, and coconut extract.
- Add flour, baking soda, and salt. do not over mix only fold until fully combined.
- fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake for 1 hour in the oven or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cooling completely before removing from pan and serving.
