these chocolate macaroons are the perfect no bake way to satisfy your sweet tooth in the middle of the summer. When you’re looking for something sweet and easy to make without turning on the oven and heating up the kitchen this recipe is for you.
Make these chocolate macaroons any time of year, they are always a big hit with my friends and family. This recipe in particular is one of my grandmas recopies passed down in her own hand written cookbook.
Ingredients you will need to make these chocolate macaroons
- Butter
- Granulated sugar
- Brown sugar
- Coconut
- Milk
- Cocoa
- Rolled oats
- Vanilla
How to make these chocolate macaroons
1. Boil Ingredients
in a medium sauce pan add the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoanut ad milk
bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat for 5 minutes.
remove from heat and allow to cool slightly
2. Fold in dry ingredients
add cocoa, rolled oats and vanilla
fold all the ingredients together.
3. Spoon our cookies
spoon mounds of the batter on parchment paper about 1.5 tablespoons size with a bit of space between. You can use two kitchen spoons to scoop and scrape off, or use a 1.5 tbsp sized cookie scoop.
proportions don’t need to be exact since the baking is done. Bigger cookies will take longer to set up than smaller ones.
4.Allow the cookies to set up
allow to set for about 20 min or more depending on temperature of the room, chill in fridge for a faster process.
