Halloween is right around the corner, let’s make some delicious Halloween whoopie pies. They are soft and fluffy with a delicious chocolaty marshmallow flavor.

These are a favorite for kids and adults alike. They taste delicious with the amazing dark chocolate flavor of the cookie and the marshmallow filling.
Ingredients you will need
- Black cocoa – also called Dutch process cocoa, you can use regular coco also if you dont have the dark kind, your cookie will not be as dark.
- Flour- use all purpose flour
- Baking powder – helps the cookie rise
- Baking soda – helps the batter rise and level out
- Salt – brings out the flavor of the rest of the ingredients
- Butter – adds flavor to the cookie
- Sugar – added for sweetness
- Egg – binds the ingredients together
- Milk – added to bring moisture to the whole batter
- Vanilla – adds a classic vanilla flavor to the cake batter
filling
- Marshmallow fluff – helps make a great thick filling.
- Icing sugar – used to make icing
- Butter – softened to make icing
- Vanilla – added for flavor.
- Milk – used only if the consistency is not right.
How to Make Whoopie Pies
Pre heat oven to 450°f
Mix dry ingredients, cocoa, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl, and whisk until combined. set aside.

in a separate bowl mix together softened butter, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla.

add the wet ingredients to the dry and whisk until combined.
using a 1.5 tbsp cookie scoop spoon out dough 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.

bake for 6 minutes then transfer immediately to a cooling rack to cool.

Filling
add all ingredients accept for the milk to a bowl and using an hand beater mix until well combined.

add food coloring if you wish and stir it in.
spoon filling into a piping bag and in a spiral motion pipe a layer of filling onto the bottom of one cookie.

place the second cookie on to create a sandwich. repeat until all the cookies are filled.

store in the fridge to keep the filling from running. coved with plastic wrap or in an air tight container
