With the weather getting colder and the days still being short why not curl up under a blanket and enjoy these delicious hot cocoa cookie.

They are chewy, and sweet and incredibly delicious. With only a few extra steps than any other cookie you will have a cookie you love and will impress your friends.

Ingredients you will need

  • Butter
  • Chocolate chips
  • Flour
  • Cocoa powder
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Brown sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla
  • Marshmallows

Icing

  • Icing sugar
  • Butter
  • Cocoa powder
  • Hot water
  • Vanilla
  • Sprinkles

How to make Hot Cocoa Cookies

1. melt chocolate and butter

in a microwave-safe bowl or a double boiler melt butter and chocolate chips, then set aside to cool

2. mix wet ingredients

in a large bowl add brown sugar, eggs and vanilla, combine then add the cooled chocolate and butter mixture. mix until everything is well combined

3. combine dry ingredients

add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder, and mix everything together until you can no longer see any of the dry ingredients.

4. chill the dough

cover and allow to chill in fridge for 1 hour minimum (or overnight) if chilling over night remove from fridge about 30 minutes before you plan to bake them.

5. Pre-heat oven

pre heat oven to 325°f

6. drop cookie dough

using a 1.5 tbsp size cookie scoop drop cookies onto a cookie sheet with 2 inch space for spreading.

7. Bake

bake for 12 min

8. add marshmallows

cut marshmallows in half

remove cookies from the oven and place half a marshmallow on each

place back in the oven for 2-3 minutes to melt the marshmallow.

9. Make icing

cream together softened butter with icing sugar

add cocoa powder water and vanilla the whisk until all combined

spoon the icing into a piping bag or large freezer bag with the tip cut off

10. pipe icing on cookie

drizzle some icing on the still warm cookie and quickly top with sprinkles.

11. add sprinkles

allow to cool and set completely before trying to store anywhere.
