This mouthwatering meatloaf will blow your moms, and maybe even your grandma’s meatloaf recipe out of the water. sorry not sorry.

Meatloaf often has a bad rap but if made well can be a real comfort food. Not only that but it can be a really inexpensive to make and feed a whole family for only a few dollars.

Right now during this financial crisis we need all the help we can get. Add a side of mashed potatoes and your favorite easy vegetable and you’ve got dinner! added bonus, the leftovers make for great sandwiches the next day.

Ingredients you will need to make this mouthwatering meatloaf

  • Ground beef
  • Ground pork chuck – the added fat content helps keep the meatloaf moist.
  • Eggs – binds the whole loaf together.
  • Crushed fish crackers- for this I use what’s in the house, use any crackers, chips, croutons. This usually works out better for me then any breadcrumbs since it adds flavor to the meatloaf.
  • Onion soup mix – this is the all time secret ingredient, please tell no one.
  • Dried onion flakes
  • Dill
  • Oregano
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parsley

Sauce

  • Brown sugar
  • Ketchup
  • A1 sauce – use any kind of steak sauce you have.
  • Yellow mustard
  • Grated garlic

How to make this mouthwatering meatloaf

1. Pre-heat

pre heat oven to 350℉

2. Mix ingredients for loaf

in a large bowl add all your ingredients for the loaf

using latex gloves (or clean hands) squish and mix the meat folding and squeezing the mixture through your hands until fully combined.

3. Form into shape

in a large baking dish form a loaf in the middle leaving room around the edges for browning. try to have a consistent size from one end to the other and no super thick or thin parts.

dispose of gloves (if you are using them) and wash hands well

4. Mix sauce

in a small bowl add the ingredients for the sauce and mix well

5. Add sauce to loaf

pour over the top of the loaf and spread to make sure there is no meat exposed.

6. Bake

bake in pre heated oven for 1 hour

remove from oven and allow to rest for 15 min before slicing.

7. Enjoy

  • ¼ cup A1 sauce
