Tacos are just an amazing dinner idea any day. My family loves them so much that we have them almost weekly. I have been seeing shrimp tacos all over lately and knew I needed to try to make some for us to try. my kids and husband loved how they turned out and we will be making them again for sure.

I’m so happy to share this recipe for shrimp tacos with you on how I made them. this time I purchased tortillas but as always you can make them yourself. I have a great recipe for tortillas that is so easy to make and delicious.

when cooking make sure you measure with your heart. if there is an ingredient you dont like the flavor of maybe cut it back a bit or cut it out entirely. you are cooking for you and your family and know what they like and don’t like.

of course never be afraid to try anything new either or even something your have tried before but didn’t like in the past. I know as I grow I’m changing the way I look at food and my taste buds are changing a lot as well.

Ingredients you will need

  • 2-3 cup shrimp
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp tajin
  • ½ tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp chives
  • ½ tbsp garlic salt
  • ½ tbsp smoked paprika
  • ½ lemon juiced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • small tortillas
  • 2 cup coleslaw mix
  • greed goddess dressing

How to make Shrimp Tacos

  1. In a medium-sized bowl add fresh or thawed frozen shrimp that have been peeled and de-veined.
  2. roll lemon on the counter under the pressure of your hand to free up some of the juices. Slice in half then squeeze the juice from half the lemon over the shrimp. add olive oil, salt, pepper, tajin, parsley, chives, garlic salt, and smoked paprika.
  3. stir it all together making sure every piece of shrimp is covered in all the seasoning, cover and let marinate in the fridge till ready to cook. if you have time leave for about 1 hour.
  4. start BBQ on medium heat with a mat designed to allow you to cook shrimp (can also be skewered or done in a frying pan)
  5. cook until shrimp has turned pink and the seasoning has begun to brown. remove from heat.
  6. place coleslaw in a small bowl and toss with dressing.
  7. assemble taco with tortilla, coleslaw, and shrimp. you can top with a bit of lemon juice or hot sauce and enjoy!
