With Valentine’s day right around the corner, we all may be wondering what are we going to get for our significant other that will show them how much they mean to us.
Chocolates are nice but they usually have a bunch that don’t even taste good. Flowers die and balloons end up in the trash beside that card you spent so much time picking out.
Maybe this year take some time to make a full meal. make some delicious food and fill their stomach. We all know that is the best way to someone’s heart after all.
I have created here a full meal, appetizer to desert using some of my favorite recipes that are sure to impress the one you love.
there are all kind of great recipes on here that are just a click away if you are looking for something a little different.
Seafood Dip
All good meals start with an appetizer. Its a great way to hang out and have a snack while the main meal is being prepared.
This seafood dip is by far one of my favorites. It is so easy to make and a great dip you can make ahead of time and keep it covered in your fridge till your ready to serve.
Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita
Spice things up a bit with this delicious refreshing and easy to make margarita. This drink if so delicious I have made it so many time I can do it off book.
opening a bottle of wine is always welcome especially on valentines day. but why not shake things up (see what I did there?) and impress your love with a mixed cocktail.
Chicken Parmesan
you could make some classic pasta dish and call it a day, or you could shoot for the stars and make this super simple and delicious chicken parmesan.
Valentine’s day is all about going that extra mile and making a dish like this shows you care is so many ways. At the end of the day who doesn’t love chicken, cheese and a savory tomato sauce on top of a perfectly cooked plate of pasta.
even better keep scrolling and Ill show you how you can elevate this dish and make some home made pasta. With only 2 ingredients!
2 Ingredient Pasta
Making pasta was always something I wanted to try but was intimidated by the process. Like most of what I assumed was a challenge i found that making pasta from scratch is actually very easy.
This valentines day why not go that extra mile and make the pasts from scratch. Its one of those things that you can convince them it was so challenging to do and will make them feel so loved. when deep down you know it was pretty simple and you will probably do it all again.
Homemade Croutons
Add any side salad to your meal and elevate it by making some home made croutons. this extra step makes any salad something to remember.
the added bonus is that you can use any bread you have that may be on its way out. maybe you accidently forgot to put the bread away and it has gotten a bit stale.
Instead of throwing it in the compost why not save them, give them new life and make some delicious croutons for your salad.
Chocolate Toffee Cake for Valentine’s Day
No great meal would be complete without a delicious desert to end on a sweet note. This trifle inspired cake is the perfect light desert especially for valentines day.
Chocolate is such a classic treat on this holiday and this dessert is all that and then some. The best part is you don’t need to be a pastry chef or some great baker to make this. As long as you can follow the directions on a store-bought cake mix and a package of instant pudding you will have the best dessert ready for the end of your perfect Valentine’s day meal.
I hope that you and your loved ones have a great Valentines day this year. Putting in a little extra effort for me has always been worth more than any amount of money ever could.
if you use any of these recipes or ideas please let me know what you think in the comments and I hope to see you soon for the next holiday, or Tuesday!
