Equipment

  • 1 BBQ
  • 1 BBQ tray, or mat tin foil will work also

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • ½ lemon zested
  • ½ lemon juiced
  • 1 pinch garlic

Instructions

  • line a BBQ baking sheet with tin foil
  • grab 1 piece of asparagus and snap the bottom off, the vegetable will naturally snap at the right spot removing the tough part of the stem
  • place the asparagus on the lined bbq sheet in a single layer.
  • spray or drizzle with olive oil
  • season with salt pepper and garlic
  • roll a lemon on the counter to loosen the juices inside
  • zest about half the lemon straight onto the asparagus the cut a juice half the lemon onto the vegetable
  • your BBQ should have a medium to low flame
  • place the sheet on the grill and allow to cook, flipping the vegetable and rotating their positions occasionally until the asparagus is fully cooked.
  • about 10-15 minutes
  • cooking time depends on how you like it, if you like a softer asparagus you can cook longer, I like them to still have a bit of a snap to them.
